Mr. Skalisky served in the U.S. Air Force, retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During his 23-year career, he was a fighter pilot in the F-15, F-16, and F/A-18. His service included assignments as an Air Force Aggressor, Navy-exchange Operational Test Director, Branch Chief for the Undersecretary of the Air Force (Acquisition), and commander of the 611th Air Operations Squadron. His last position was deputy director of current operations for U.S. Pacific Command.
Most recently, he was the Director of Aircraft Test Operations and Management for Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation – America and was responsible for the program management and flight operations groups for the Type Certification program of the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (Spacejet) program in Moses Lake, WA. Previously, he was the Senior Program Manager and a Test Pilot for Airborne Testbed Programs at Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (now Raytheon Intelligence & Space) in El Segundo, CA with hangar facilities for experimental (research & development) aircraft at both Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Ontario International Airport (ONT). He has also been a Learjet pilot for a commercial Part 135 operator and a small-business owner.
Skalisky holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Operations Research from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a Master of Aeronautical Science Degree in Management (with distinction) from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He also holds FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) and Certified Flight Instructor-Instrument (CFII) certificates.
